The rebus shows a SHIRT without a T, and BURN [REB11].

�In possession of the Amazons� is a reference to the first line of Mrs Gaskell�s novel Cranford � the major theme of the 1994 Hunt. From the many individual quizzes in that Hunt, I have chosen pop music and sport. You have to separate the pop stars from the sports stars but keep them in the order shown.

The first set of pictures shows Enya, John Lennon, Natalie Imbruglia, Frank Zappa, Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Missie Elliott, Justin Timberlake and Bill Haley [SHIR1]. The initial letters of their surnames is ELIZABETH � the first name of Mrs Gaskell, who was the major theme of the 1994 Hunt [SHIR2].

The second set of pictures shows Damon Hill, Ronnie O�Sullivan, Al Unser Jr, Alan Smith, Bernie Ecclestone, Tim Henman, Brian O�Driscoll, Lennox Lewis, Frankie Dettori, Steve Waugh, Martin O�Neill, Paula Radcliffe, Laura Davis and Maria Shaparova [SHIR3]. The initial letters of their surnames is HOUSEHOLD WORDS � the magazine run by Charles Dickens which serialised some of Mrs Gaskell�s books [SHIR4].
